Itinerary:
Day 1: Depart from Quito, visit Otavalo indigenous market. Hike around Cuicocha lake (3068 m), an andean volcanic lake. Homestay with an indigenous family close in Cotacachi for the night.
Day 2: Drive to Cayambe volcano refuge (4600 m), short hike towards the glacier, night at a traditional hacienda.
Day 3: Drive to Cotopaxi National Park, hike to the refuge (4800 m), downhill descent by mountain bike, night at a traditional hacienda.
Day 4: Visit a local indigenous market (Saquisilí on Thursdays / Pujilí on Sundays) in the morning. Drive to Quilotoa lagoon (3800 m), steep hike down to the lagoon, optional kayaking, hike or optional mule ride back to the viewpoint at the top. Drive back to Quito.
