Whitewater Rafting
Toachi and Blanco rivers (Class III-IV)

Season: Year round

Area: Santo Domingo de los Colorados.

  • The river is located in the western Andes slopes. 
  • The weather is usually warm, the water of the river is not cold.
  • Experience is not necessary for this trip.  Perfect for beginners and experienced.

ITINERARY:

07h00    Pick up from hotel.  Drive to Santo Domingo de los Colorados
10h00    Arrive to river.  Safety talk.  Snacks.
11h00    Rafting starts!!
13h30    Riverside lunch buffet
14h00    Rafting continues
16h00    Rafting finishes.  Drive back to Quito
19h00    Arrive to Quito.  Drop off in hotel
 

 
Quijos river (Class III-IV+)

Season: October-January (depending on rainfall)
Area: El Chaco. Quijos river is located in the eastern Andes slopes. 

  • The water of the river is cold (we always use neoprene suits and spray jackets)
  • Experience is not neccesary for this trip, but there are bigger waves.


ITINERARY:

07h00    Pick up from hotel.  Drive to the river
10h00    Arrive to river.  Safety talk.  Snacks.
11h00    Rafting starts!!
14h30    Rafting finishes.  Drive back to Quito
18h00    Arrive to Quito.  Drop off in hotel

 
Mira river (Class II-III)

Season: Year round (depending on rainfall)
Area: Salinas, El Chota, Imbabura.  The weather is nice and warm, the water is warm.

  • Experience is not necessary for this trip. 
  • It is recommended for families with children (12 and up).


ITINERARY :

 
07h00    Pick up from hotel.  Drive to Ibarra, Salinas.
10h00    Arrive to river.  Safety talk.  Snacks.
11h00    Rafting starts!!
14h30    Rafting finishes.  Drive back to Quito
18h00    Arrive to Quito.  Drop off in hotel

    • Spray jacket
    • Neoprene suit
  • Private transportation from/to Quito
  • Riverside lunch snacks and beverages, and cold beers at the end of the trip.


What should you bring?

  • Small camera
  • Copy of your passport
  • Towel
  • River sandals
  • Quick drying shorts and shirt
  • Dry clothes to change after the rafting
  • Cash for extra expenses or tips.
