The Island Hopping on a budget tour has fixed departures once or twice a month and you go on tour with other fellow travellers to explore the magic of each island. You can choose between a 5- or 6-day tour including the highlands of all the four inhabited islands (San Cristobal, Isabela, Santa Cruz & Floreana) and a 7- or 8-day tour which additionally takes you to one or more of the uninhabited islands. Transport between the islands is by private speed boat, accommodation is in hostels or hotels on the islands. Ideal for those who don´t want to be on board during the entire tour and are looking for a competitive price! 

 
 

 

Accommodation

Your accomodation during the Island Hopping Tour is in clean, basic hostals with private bathroom and hot water.

Examples: Casa de Jeimy (San Cristobal), La Gran Tortuga (Isabela), Peregrina or Estrella de Mar (Santa Cruz) or similar.

 

If you choose the upgrade to Tourist Class Superior you will be in hotels with larger room, TV and air condition. Most of these hotels have a pool.

Examples: Hostería Pimampiro (San Cristobal), Villa Laguna (Santa Cruz), The Wooden House (Isabela) or similar.

5-day tour

Day 1: Flight to San Cristobal & Underwater Galapagos 
Flight to San Cristobal in the morning. Transfer to the hostel. Lunch and departure for a great snorkel tour to Lobos Island and Kicker Rock. Possibility of spotting: sea lions, iguanas, rays, reef sharks, marine turtles…

Meals included: B/L/D

Day 2: Floreana Island & highlands
Departure in the morning to Floreana island (2h30). On the way Panga ride in Champions & Enderby. Then we’ll snorkel at the Lobería. At arrival visit of the “Asilo de la Paz”: one of the first human settlement of the islands: we’ll see pirate caves, freshwater springs, and giant tortoises on the way. Afterwards we continue to Isabela island (1h30). Hike to the Flamingo lagoon to spot the graceful birds.

Meals included: B/L/D

Day 3 : Isabela Island & hike to volcano
Today we’ll visit Isabela island. Bus to the highlands and then hike to the volcanoes Sierra Negra and Chico. Isabela has active volcanoes, lava sceneries are impressive! Lunch in Campo Duro finca. Around 3pm we’ll be back to the port and we’ll reach the nearby “Concha de Perla”, a clear water bay where we’ll snorkel.

Day 4: Isabela & Santa Cruz Island
Breakfast and then visit of the Tintoreras Islet: hike & snorkel: possibility of spotting: blue footed boobies, penguins, marine iguanas…Around 09h30AM navigation to Santa Cruz. Embark around 10 am to Santa Cruz. We’ll have a nice lunch in town. Afterwards we’ll visit the beautiful beach “Tortuga Bay”.

Meals included: B/L/D

Day 5: Back to mainland

Visit of the Charles Darwin station and then transfer to Baltra to catch your flight back to mainland.

6-day tour

Day 1: San Cristobal

Welcome to the Galapagos! Your guide will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Lunch in the port, and then we’ll have a hike to a cliff where we can spot different bird species. Then we’ll snorkel in the bay where we can frequently spot marine turtles.

In the morning we’ll go to the high part for a hiking tour at the Junco lagoon. It is the only freshwater lake on the island and we can spot frigate birds there.
