This is a multi-day journey through Ecuador’s central Andes designed around altitude contrast, rhythm, and presence, not summits or speed.

The experience moves deliberately between high-altitude refuges, historic mountain lodges, remote volcanic landscapes, and warm lowland valleys, allowing the body and mind to adapt naturally.

You will sleep in mountain refuges and a simple high-altitude camp, but also recover in historic haciendas and comfortable lodges. Access is mostly by vehicle, with short walks at altitude rather than technical trekking or summit pushes.

This journey is about:

  • experiencing extreme landscapes without rushing

  • understanding altitude through presence, not conquest

  • moving between cold, wind, silence, warmth, and rest

It is not a mountaineering expedition, and it is not a luxury tour.
It is a carefully designed Signature Journey that balances effort and recovery.

The final price may vary depending on group size, season, accommodation availability, and specific logistics.

Day 1 — Quito → Cotopaxi National Park → Mountain Refuge

We depart Quito early and enter Cotopaxi National Park. After a slow acclimatization walk and time to observe the high-Andean landscape, we reach the mountain refuge in the afternoon.

The rest of the day is intentionally quiet: warm drinks, simple dinner, and early rest at altitude.

Overnight: Mountain refuge (approx. 4,800 m)

Day 2 — Cotopaxi → Historic Andean Hacienda

After breakfast and a gentle descent, we travel to a historic Andean hacienda once visited by Alexander von Humboldt.

The afternoon is free to recover: walking the grounds, optional horseback riding, or simply resting. A visit to a nearby rose farm can be arranged, offering insight into one of Ecuador’s most important exports.

Overnight: Historic mountain hacienda

Day 3 — Avenue of Volcanoes → Chimborazo → High-Altitude Camp

We drive south along the Avenue of the Volcanoes, with scenic stops and short walks along the way.

At Chimborazo, we reach high elevation by vehicle and complete a short acclimatization walk before setting up a simple high-altitude camp. Dinner is prepared on site, followed by a silent night surrounded by volcanic landscapes.

Overnight: High-altitude camp near Chimborazo

Day 4 — Chimborazo → Baños de Agua Santa

After sunrise and breakfast, we descend from the high Andes toward the warmer eastern valleys.

We arrive in Baños de Agua Santa in the afternoon, where you can enjoy hot springs, good food, and rest. The contrast between cold volcanic landscapes and warm thermal waters is a defining moment of the journey.

Overnight: Comfortable hotel in Baños

Day 5 — Baños → Quito

After breakfast, we return to Quito at a relaxed pace, concluding the journey.
